My laptop has been broken, which is probably obvious by my lack of posts.
Well I'm finally back up and running and ready to kick shit off with a review!
Today we’re talking hair care.
A little back story on my hair:
I have always had super long (currently booty length), thick, wavy hair, and I've neglected the fuck out of it and took advantage of the fact that, "I got it from my mama".
What that really means is that I never paid much attention to my hair care because it was naturally beautiful and I never thought it would go to shit.
I just bought which ever shampoo and conditioner caught my eye or smelled yummy (for my hair type of course).
Then a couple years ago when I had my daughter, my hair went to shit.
I hear this is quite normal (blah blah blah) but I began freaking the fuck out.
Not only was my hair thinner than before but it was super dry, frizzy, lifeless, and I had a ton of breakage.
I had no idea where to start or what to do because I never did anything before.
I can’t even tell you how many drugstore brands and lines I tried yet I saw absolutely no changes in my hair.
I figured I needed to stop crying about my hair and do something before it got worse, so in January I decided to dive into the world of high end hair care and not only that but I also created a hair care routine for myself which I’ll get into in a different post.
Onto the good shit!!
(btw I used the entire bottles of shampoo & conditioner before writing this review)
Matrix Biolage Ultra HydraSource Shampoo ($25)

I purchased the jumbo sizes 33.8 oz.
This line smells amazing but then most high end hair care products usually do.
The scent is super light, very clean, with a barely there kinda watery floral scent.
Seriously the watery floral scent is so light and smells so damn good that I stood at my kitchen island inhaling it for a few minutes like a weirdo, the scent lingers in my hair for hours (that doesn’t really matter to me but I know it does to some so I thought I’d mention it lol).
The first week I noticed my hair felt soft and silky.
I didn’t wanna get too psyched too soon because my hair needed more than that.
After the first month I really saw the difference and you couldn’t shut me up about it.
It’s like it wasn’t even the gross mop that had been living on my head recently, my hair was slowly but surely finding it’s way back to normal (for me).
All the frizziness was gone and the visible breakage from before was even smoothed down, the breakage used to be very visible because my hair was so dry that it would just stick up wherever my hair was parted but all of that was gone.
My hair feels silky to the touch, it’s very visibly shiny, it feels hydrated, and most importantly its looks and feels healthy.
Even air dried with no styling products my hair looks and feels shiny, silky, hydrated, and frizz free.
My hair even has more bounce and movement, whereas before it was kinda stiff and scratchy like a broom.
I know that sounds horrible but it's true.
These big ass bottles lasted me around 3 months too, so that’s more than decent for the price and also taking into consideration that I have a crap ton of hair.
I also wash my hair 3-4 times a week, I try to go 2 days between but it’s usually more like every other day.
I don’t think I can go back to drugstore shampoo & conditioner after this.
Matrix Biolage HydraSource Conditioning Balm ($27)
I purchased the jumbo size 16.9 oz.
This has the same amazing scent as the shampoo & conditioner.
I used this twice a week the first month when I felt my hair really needed it more, then went down to once a week and it still maintained the same results.
This added a huge boost of hydration to my hair and every time I used it, my hair just felt happy and almost like I had applied a serum or something.
It worked amazing to restore the much needed moisture to my hair, especially while using the matching shampoo & conditioner.
Obviously you don’t have to use them together but that's just what I did.
I put this in my hair as soon as I get in the shower then tie my hair up and leave it on during my entire shower, I rinse it out right before I get out of the shower so that I can leave it in for as long as possible.
My hair looks and feels so much better since starting the
Matrix Biolage HydraSource line, which like I said before was noticeable after only a week and by the month mark I was sold.
After that first month though I did add a few things into my hair care routine which definitely helped my overall outcome.
