March BoxyCharm Unboxing

Hey everyone!!

March has been such a busy month for me and on top of all that we also went on vacation this month which was amazing!
Heads up guys do not wear brand new Converse when you're going to be doing a shit ton of walking, I now have some super awesome blisters from my vacation. I was just so excited to finally have new Converse even though I knew better *cries *, and even though we've been back for a week I'm still paying for that stupid ass decision.

So do we all know what time it is?
It's BoxyCharm time!
This month's March theme was called Creepy Cute.
To be honest I really don't get how this box has anything to do with Creepy Cute and I just don't really see how that fits into that category besides their photo shoot pictures on their social media, nothing about this screams Creepy Cute.
I don't really care that it has nothing to do with their monthly theme because I love my BoxyCharm boxes, I'm just curious how they pick a theme because this one seems kinda random.
Let me know what you think about the supposed theme below in the comments or if I'm just a finicky bitch.
I also hear the waiting list has been insane with some people waiting for over a month to get on the BoxyCharm subscription list.

On to the products..

1) Photo Finish Primer by Smashbox ($16)
So they sent a travel sized bottle of this primer in this month's box and every Charmer received one.
As you can guess everyone went ape shit because it was not full sized but to be honest it's still quite larger than a sample, it is half the size of a full sized bottle and a little goes a long way.
It didn't bother me at all because I own this full sized and I even have a full sized backup so I ended up just giving this one away to a friend who was more than happy with a travel size.
Btw that is my full sized bottle in the picture above because I had already given it away before taking a picture, oops.

2) Deluxe Fan Brush #SS023 by Crown Brushes ($18.99)
So as you might have guessed this was yet another controversial item that every Charmer received in this month's box.
Last month every Charmer received a standard fan brush because there was a highlighter palette in the February box.
Here's the funny thing this here fan brush is not in any way similar to a standard fan brush.
I took the picture of these two together so you can clearly see in comparison to the full sized bottle of Smashbox primer that this brush is huge, thick, and not super dense but more densely packed than a standard fan brush.
Lucky for me I was about to order one of these giant fan brushes for contouring but I happened to see the sneak peek they released on their Instagram so I didn't have to.
You can definitely use this for highlighter if you wanna go h.a.m. but they work so much better for contour or bronzer in my opinion, it just fits perfectly under the cheekbone and curves of your face and makes contouring quick and easy.

3) Urban Rustic Palette by Naked Cosmetics ($39.99)
These eye shadow shades are freaking gorgeous and very autumnal which I love year round, the shades also seemed creamy and pigmented enough when swatched but nothing really mind blowing.
This palette is more of an accent palette and needs to be used with another palette as all three shades are shimmer and not to mention bold.
Although this palette is pretty it's not very functional on it's own and I also kinda find it hard to believe that this three pan drugstore quality palette would go for $39.99.
As part of this BoxyCharm I think it's an awesome addition to my collection but I most certainly would not purchase this palette on my own for the price.

4) Matte Liquid Lipstick by RealHer ($15)
I received the shade LadyLove.
For some reason when I first got this I thought it was a lip gloss but when I swatched it I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually a matte liquid lipstick.
The shade was a beautiful berry color and although I wouldn't normally wear a shade like this, I found it quite beautiful.
I left this lipstick on my wrist all day and it was still there after many hand washes with minimal fading so that's a good sign as it seems to be pretty long wearing, although I have not worn it on my lips yet.

5) Lipliner by RealHer ($12.50)
I received the shade I Am Unique.
I absolutely love when subscription boxes give you a lipliner that matches the lip color sent and BoxyCharm seems to always be on point with that.
This lipliner swatched easily with minimal pressure, no tugging, yet wasn't too creamy and soft that it lost it's shape.
This lipliner also seemed to have good staying power as it lasted a few hours on its own swatch on my wrist.

Well that was everything that I received this month in my Creepy Cute BoxyCharm, let me know your thought on this month's box or any thoughts that come to mind in the comments below or hit me up on social media.

Ulta Birthday Haul

Hey everyone!!

*Quick Reminder:
Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty event is still going strong and there's still some awesome high end products coming up for 50% off . Don't forget to check that out and save some money whether it's something new you want to try or something you were gonna buy anyway.
The products change daily so follow my twitter for the 21 Days of Beauty daily featured products if you'd like..

So as we all know by now, I went H.A.M. for my birthday and let's be honest I just can't stop myself and I still am.
Guess what that means?
Here's the next installment of my Birthday Hauls!!
Let me also say I've been using all the Sephora Haul & these Ulta Haul products for the past couple weeks, so the updates will be coming up sooner than later.

Let's get right into this shiznit..
We'll start with the skincare products to get it over with because I feel like everyone just wants to get to the makeup and swatches. Hahaha.

This is a repurchase.
My absolute favorite daily daytime moisturizer that I always find my way back to.

The Biore Strips are a repurchase.
Seriously who doesn't love these things?
I've tried a bunch of pore clearing masks, especially those black trendy ones and so far none have really compared to these bad boys right here or at least for my nose plus they're super affordable.
Pulling out all that crap on these strips is so fucking satisfying.
I don't have as many clogged pores as I used to, so I usually have my husband do it with me so we can oooh and aaaw over how gross his is lmfao.

The Rose Facial Spray is another repurchase.
This stuff is so good and affordable that I would recommend everyone try this out for so many different reasons whether it be skincare or makeup related, I myself use it for both.
BTW I see a lot of people seem confused about what this product is so I just want to say that this is not a makeup setting spray in the sense that it in no way will make your makeup last longer.
What it will do is melt everything down into place and take down away that powdery effect of your makeup, foil shadows, and is more similar to what M.A.C. Fix+ does than a setting spray.
It's also amazing for added hydration before moisturizer or anytime throughout the day for a quick boost of hydration, it's refreshing, and won't fuck up your makeup either.
Very soothing on the skin, full of vitamins & minerals, and the smell even gives you a nice aromatherapy boost, it just makes you feel good.
I go through this stuff so fast, I spray it before moisturizer, after makeup if I'm wearing makeup, and throughout the day. Pretty much every time I see the bottle I want to spray my face, it's that good.

The Cucumber & Green Tea Facial Spray is a first time purchase.
Obviously my obsession with this spray is too real.
When I found out that they had come out with another one I was all over it.
This one is supposed to be more soothing and cooling because of the different ingredients.
It's also exclusive to Ulta.

My daytime skincare routine has been lacking a serum for quite some time (like a year, oops) but nothing had really popped out at me.
Skincare gets expensive for something I'll end up hating or doesn't work out for me plus I'm not really the type to return things so yeah being patient has been hard.
I received some deluxe samples of this serum and I had probably about 3 of them which lasted me around 4 weeks, so basically I tried this out for 4 weeks and absolutely loved the results so far and decided to jump in and buy the full size before I ran out.
I'll obviously use this a few more weeks before I make any crazy claims but so far I'm excited about this product.

I've also been thinking about doing an updated skincare routine being that I've switched up quite a few things with the season change and just cutting out some crappy products.
So be on the lookout for that soon too.
Definitely also been thinking about posting twice a week instead of my usual one, since I'm also trying to incorporate so many more content ideas.

Okay, okay I know, on to the makeup products and swatches.

(swatched top row from left to right
continued bottom row from left to right)

Nyx Sweet Cheeks Blush Palette ($19.99)
This palette is just fucking gorgeous.
It has an amazing variety of shades and finishes and I was really happy with the swatches.
I can pass on eye shadow palettes all day but like I've said before...
Face palettes just have some sick hold on me, cheek, contour, highlighters, these palettes know how to speak to me.

(swatched top row from left to right
continued bottom row from left to right)

Nyx Strobe Genius Illuminating Palette ($18.99)
Gorgeous shade in this and I love that the top row contains some wild cards.
I mean I know I have a problem with face palettes but in my defense can I just say that I use highlighters for my inner corners and brow bone daily so it's very multi purpose.

(swatched top row from left to right
continued bottom row from left to right)

Fiona Stiles Multidimensional Color Palette ($39)
So this is awkward, another face palette.. Umm don't know how this got here.
I bought the Fiona Stiles Sheer Sculpting Palette quite some months ago and it has become my go to for contouring and since I loved it so much I'd been wanting to try more products from her brand and of course when she released this palette, it was go time.
This beauty has three blushes on the bottom row and two highlighters and a bronzer on the top row.

(swatched top row from left to right
continued bottom row from left to right)

Nyx Lid Lingerie Shadow Palette ($9.99)
Seriously such a perfect combo of everyday basics and in an all matte finish.
The swatches were rich in pigment and I was straight out fucking impressed.
I know it might sound messed up but there's a ton of crappy matte shadows in the drugstore, so bravo Nyx you've done good here.
There is only six shades but I gotta say they chose them well and you really could go warm or cool with this palette depending how and where you place them, I also love that the pans are nice and large.
I only have two other all matte neutral palettes and I use them so much more than my other palettes because let's be real here I don't  get full beat and sparkly everyday, I have shit to do.
They're also good for travel and multipurpose because I tend to use my matte palette with other palettes and also for my eyebrows.

(swatched top row from left to right
continued bottom row from left to right)

Nyx Cosmic Metals Shadow Palette ($9.99)
Okay this was a total impulse purchase and I bought it because I figured it would go awesome used with the Nyx Lid Lingerie Shadow Palette.
Although it may seem like I just buy a shit ton of makeup, I usually have a list of things I want or need based on what I'm running low on or lacking in my collection and I try not to buy things I don't really need until I've used up a product from that category or I at least try my hardest because seriously I love makeup *cries * and this was not on my list

(swatched top row from left to right
continued second row from left to right)

(that first red swatch, the fourth orange swatch, and the seventh fuchsia-ish swatch were quite patchy and gave me trouble during swatching, they also seemed drier and less pigmented than the others.
my purple was broken when I got it btw *sad face *)

(swatched third row from left to right
continued bottom row from left to right)

(the third teal blue had similar issues with formula as above)

Nyx Brights Ultimate Shadow Palette ($17.99)
As shocking as it may seem this bright ass bitch was on my list and I've been trying to get it for a while but this palette is often sold out online at Ulta and I can never find it at my Target.
I have not one single full color palette in my collection until now, isn't that crazy?
Look who's breaking out of her shell!
Can I just say, it was so fucking hard to choose a color palette. they all seem to focus on a certain color family and I don't use color enough to buy a bunch of palettes just to get a wider variety of colors, so obviously this baby fit my needs and won as my drugstore choice.
I also ordered one high end color palette but it's a surprise and we'll be doing a first impressions and swatches when she gets here.

Fiona Stiles Matte Finish Foundation Concentrate ($30)
Trying out a bunch of different products from this brand, so had to test a foundation too.
I mean obviously, right?

EcoTools Perfecting Blender Duo ($9.99)
I actually needed to buy some new makeup sponges because mine were all starting to look kind of sad. Since there's so many new sponges hitting the market lately I just decided to try out a bunch of new ones. Oh and btw I noticed they also sell the large blender from this duo separately, the EcoTools Total Perfecting Blender ($5.99).

Nyx Flawless Finish Blending Sponge ($7.99)
I'm really excited to try out this sponge but one thing that annoyed me was the way they packaged it left that deep indent cut around the entire circumference of the sponge.

L'oreal Infallible Blend Artist Foundation Blender ($7.99)
Everyone seems to love this cute little pink squish, so I had to try it for myself. This was the only one from L'oreal's new sponge line that actually intrigued me, the others just seemed a little gimmicky.

Ardell Glamour Multipack #101 ($11.99)
Last but not least some falsies. I've never tried this specific style, so we'll see how that goes.

Wow I can't believe we're finally done with that haul. I don't have the birthday gift from Ulta because I ordered all this online and you have to actually go into Ulta to get their gift and even though they built one 20 minutes away, let's be real I am not dragging myself in there lmao.
Seriously Ulta get your shit together.

Love any of the products mentioned? Or did I just buy a bunch of poop nuggets?

Sephora Birthday Haul

Hey everyone!!

As I mentioned in my last post I just celebrated my birthday and in my world my birthday lasts an entire month. So that means lot's of new beauty products and lots of new reviews, first impressions, and of course updates.

We're starting the fun with a good old Sephora Haul.

Benefit Cosmetics Dandelion Twinkle ($29)
This is the newest highlighter from Benefit Cosmetics.
I already have the Dandelion Blush and love the shade which is soft nude pink, that I knew I had to have this before it even came out. It's definitely the perfect everyday highlight as it's more subtle on the face.

In the shade Light.
I set my face every time I put any kind of foundation on and even when I don't wear much makeup I usually have on some kind of BB and powder.
Guess what that means? This bitch goes through powders (and foundations) pretty quick.
So when I heard about a powder that's completely translucent, blurring, smoothing, and also perfect for baking (holy crap) you best believe I was all over it.

In the shade Petal.
This powder is made specifically for brightening the under eyes which is right up my alley because I have dark circles mostly on the inner to middle under eye, more like dark half circles hahaha and I'm all about brightening that shit up.

This purchase has been long over due.
When they released the refillable version it made it even more appealing, so I guess my procrastinating for so long ended up being a good thing.

Another long over due purchase.
This palette will definitely get a ton of use from me because not only am I a neutral whore but I love matte formulas and am fond of all matte eye looks.
This palette is also great in combination with other palettes that lack certain neutral shades.
(I apologize for those swatches above of this palette but it's 4 a.m. and I haven't been to bed yet)

(L to R - KVD Bow N Arrow, Smashbox Stepping Out, Smashbox Dream Huge)
(I placed the two nudes side by side so you can compare the swatches.
The KVD is more neutral which adds a touch of coolness as well as warmth to it's undertone and the Smashbox one has a warmer undertone. The KVD one is also slightly darker.)

In the shade Bow N Arrow
So I guess I kinda went nuts on Kat Von D products (lol) but what can I say, my collection was lacking. I really like the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick formula because it's not drying and super comfortable and that's why I continue to buy these.
I will say that it's not as long wearing as other liquid lipsticks even though it does dry down matte and I wouldn't wear this on days that I know I won't be able to reapply, this stuff literally wipes off with easily with a dry tissue so yeah that's kind of a bummer but the shades are so pretty. that usually it doesn't bother me.

In the shades Stepping Out & Dream Huge
These Smashbox liquid lipsticks are so freaking good.
They have a super light weight formula, they're richly pigmented, comfortable, and they last forever. These are one of my favorite high end liquid lipsticks but they do get pricey so I'm slowly adding to my collection.

Sephora Reward Birthday Gift (free)
I absolutely had to pick the makeup gift this year because not only is it Tarte, they're freaking nudes. This years gift consists of a deluxe Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in the shade Paaarty and a Tarteist Lip Paint in Birthday Suit. Both product shades are exclusive and made specifically for the Sephora Rewards Birthday Gift.

Androgyny Palette First Impressions & Swatches

Hey everyone!!

I'm excited for so many new things this month with my blog, not only products but I'll also be trying to add new types of content as well.
Be prepared for lots of new products and hauls this month because I went nuts (and still am) for my birthday and there will be a lot to talk about.

Soooo...
I've been wanting so badly to share my makeup looks and possibly some kind of tutorials.
I'm trying really hard to break out of my shell and since I was so damn inspired by today's palette, I decided fuck it I'm just going to go for it even if it makes me feel sick to my stomach.
So although I might be too chicken shit for full blown tutorials right now, I'm baby stepping my way there with today's post which includes face pictures and makeup details.

I'm so fucking pumped about today's post.
I was actually going to post something else but my Jeffree Star Cosmetics order came today, so yeah enough said.

Today we'll be doing a First Impressions complete with swatches of the new Jeffree Star Cosmetics Androgyny Palette ($45)

When Jeffree Star first revealed the Androgyny Palette I nearly wet my panties.
I love, love, love Jeffree Star but by now you know that I am a neutral whore so I decided to pass on his first palette, the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Beauty Killer Palette because I knew I wouldn't get much use out of it, even though the sick makeup obsessed psycho in me still wants to buy it (I have to keep telling her no).
So you can imagine when I found out he was releasing his version of a neutral palette, it was already a done deal.
Let me say when I opened up this sexy bitch, it was even more beautiful in person.
I felt like I was on a first date and had too many drinks, I wanted it all over me.
It was so hard but I had to keep reminding myself to keep my fingers and brushes out of the pans because I had to get pictures first.
(I also ordered the Androgyny Liquid Lipstick because it just felt right lol)

The packaging is a bright barbie(?) pink faux snakeskin with gold lettering and detail.
The Androgyny Palette itself seems quite large but the eyeshadow pans inside are larger than your standard let's say Makeup Geek pans which I really like because it's super easy to dip your brush, even the fluffiest of crease brushes.
I prefer large pans as well as square or circle pans over long rectangular pans for the very reason that they can be a pain in the ass to gather product on your brush or maybe I'm just a bitch (hahaha), I mean I'll still use them but it's not my preference.
This Androgyny Palette also has a large interior mirror which is a plus if that's a deal breaker for you.

When I swatched these eyeshadows it was clear they were super fucking pigmented and they held their bold and beautiful pigmentation when swatched.
So we are going to jump right in to some swatches of my beautiful new baby.
(L to R: Frosting, Safe Word, Charm, Deja Vu, Dominatrix, Androgyny, Fetish, Military, Poison, Swallow)

So after I swatched these eyeshadows I couldn't wait to use them.
As someone who would normally go straight for that top row, this palette inspired the fuck out of me. I've always been kind of intimidated and uncomfortable with bright, bold, or just color shades in general but the colors in this palette are much deeper and smokier which complements the neutrals so perfectly that they seemed less scary.
Jeffree Star has managed to convince me that these shades belong in a neutral palette and they all really do play well with each other.
I can honestly say that no other palette has given me the feels that this bad bitch right here has, I can't even explain it and I can see this becoming a palette I reach for multiple times a week.

So as I sat on the floor staring at this palette in awe I shocked even myself and looked past that top row and created a smoky blue and gold halo eye. Seriously, who am I?
Jeffree Star's Androgyny Palette has awakened something new in me, a need for color.

Just as I had hoped these eye shadows blended out like a dream and held true to their rich pigmentation even after blending but because they're so pigmented I could see this going downhill super quick if you load too much onto your brush.
I didn't have any fallout either which I was shocked by because the formula was so soft and buttery I was absolutely expecting fallout and even did my eye makeup first for that very reason.
The shade Frosting by the way, ughhh so beyond amazing!
I foiled Frosting when I used it because it's a habit and I do it because I really like my shimmers to pop but this shade.. Wow, it was practically metallic once applied, super bright, and so pigmented that I was able to do both eyes with just that one brush dip, that says more than I ever could about the quality and pigmentation of these shadows.
It's fucking crazy how good these shadows are and you really need to see for yourself to believe it.

ON THE EYES:
Androgyny Palette - Safe Word in my crease, Poison in my lower crease and inner & outer corners, Swallow built up in inner & outer corners and lightly over Poison in crease, Frosting on center of lid.
Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye Palette - Liberatus on brow bone.
I repeated that combo on my lower lash line, as well as the Frosting in the center.
(BTW I tried out a new brow combo and hate how my brows turned out and they also are way too warm and look orange-y which is hideous on me with my black hair so please look past that)

I am obsessed with this palette and can't wait to use the entire bottom row and now I'm completely convinced I also need the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Beauty Killer Palette.

Nars Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder

Hey everyone..

So I just had to pop in for a quick update about updates.
I've only been blogging a couple months and I've done I think maybe two hauls on my blog so far, I know I could just go check but I'm not going to (hahaha).
I'm going to be doing a haul update anywhere from 4-8 weeks after every haul because obviously who the fuck cares if we don't know how those products ended up working out.
I'm saying 4-8 weeks because obviously I'd need more time if there are skin care items in the haul and also to be sure that I have enough time to use everything multiple times and with different products. My last post was actually an update for the Melt Cosmetics Haul I did in December, so I guess I'm not full of shit after all. Look at me following through.

Well in my last actual haul post (February Ulta Haul),
(No, it's not from Ulta (such a rebel))
Well I couldn't wait until my update so here we go biotches, this just turned into a Nars Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder Review. Surprise!
(I know the case is powdery, I've been using the shit out of it)

I had been wanting to try this powder for what seems like forever, it had just been sadly waiting on my favorites list but as soon as I hit pan on a few powders I went powder crazy and finally brought this baby home (plus a bunch of other stuff oops).

I feel like we all know what Nars packaging looks like, sleek, smooth, compact, matte black, and super sexy with of course their thin, perfectly crisp, white text (frequently imitated). There's just something so pleasing about Nars packaging both visually and physically as weird as that sounds.

The inside of the compact has a large lid sized mirror which is really crispy clear a all around a great quality mirror, it also comes with a thin flat sponge like pad which I don't personally use.
The Nars Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder itself has the tiniest reflects in it and at first sight you'd think this powder is shimmery but good news it's not shimmery whatsoever more like a super subtle and natural luminosity.
This powder is also super fine and super light and when you dip your brush and give it a swirl you might think it's not working or that there's nothing on your brush but believe me it's there.
I've heard a lot of people say that they scrape the top layer off and I do know that some lower scale drugstore brands do oddly require this to function properly but please believe me when I say you do not need to do that to this product. So even though it might look like there's nothing there, go ahead and set your under eyes with it, hell even go in for a double dip and apply more of this almost invisible powder (I know I do) and let the magic happen.
Oh my fuck!! Seriously!!
(I've been using this a couple works and as you can see there's not even a dent)

I had the best under eye days when I started using this powder, I tried this Nars Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder with multiple concealers, high end and drugstore and had beautiful results with all. I haven't had any creasing, it didn't leave my under eyes looking or feeling cake-y or dry, and it really is brightening. I've also used this to set my entire face just to test that out too and it worked beautifully just like the eyes, makeup glided over it flawlessly. It was very long wearing and had my skin feeling smooth to the touch and looking flawless all day.
I didn't need to reapply powder not even once when I used this to set my entire face. I have combo skin (oily t zone & dry face) and I had no oil peeking through at all, this powder has a soft matte finish but I honestly didn't expect it to keep my oily ass t zone in check as well as it did and it also did not cling to any drier areas of my face.

After using the Nars Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder I must say that I really do think that they knew what they were doing when they made this formula almost invisible because you truly only need very little and the way they've formulated it and pressed it super tight really allows for you to only get what you actually need. So many (including myself) have gotten used to baking and using a crap ton of powder that we mistake a super light barely there formula such as this as a flaw but after you play with it, it's actually quite a refreshing change and I am hooked. This will also be amazing as it heats up in the spring and summer because it is so fucking light and kept me matte all day without looking washed out or lifeless thanks to tiny light reflecting particles.
Although it is pricey I'm thinking (hoping) it'll last a while because I only set my under eyes with this for the most part but I guess we'll see because I'm already envisioning this beautiful powder all over my face.
